BEERG members meeting – Brussels 7th and 8th October 2009

The meeting begins at 1400 on Wednesday, October 7 and finishes at 1200 on Thursday, October 8.

The Wednesday working session runs from 1400 to 1700 and will focus on what can be expected from the new European Commission and the European Parliament by way on employment law changes during their term of office.

The meeting will also discuss the transposition of the recast EWC Directive across EU Member States and how the transposition process is being handled by the Working Group of Labour Ministry officials that has been set up by the Commission. The meeting will also look at how the trade unions are approaching renegotiating EWC agreements in light of the recast Directive.

There will be a reception and dinner from 1900 to 2200 on Wednesday evening. There will be a guest speaker joining the dinner.

Thursday’s working session runs from 0900 to 1200 and is followed by a light lunch.
Thursday agenda will focus on key industrial relations developments around Europe, while Pascale Gelly, a Paris-based lawyer and expert on Data Protection, will discuss data protection and privacy law developments.
